MEDICONNECT`S RAPIDRETRIEVE™ NOW INTEGRATED WITH LEXISNEXIS` TOTAL LITIGATOR
Allows Attorneys to Retrieve Medical Records to Research and Plan Case Strategy.
SALT LAKE CITY, UT, October 22, 2007 — With the number of legal civil cases rising each year, attorneys are increasingly concerned in obtaining patient medical records of their clients in a secure, timely and cost-effective manner. In order to help quickly obtain and use medical records in their litigation process, attorneys can now utilize MediConnect’s RapidRetrieve system directly within LexisNexis’ Total Litigator.
Users can access RapidRetrieve through Total Litigator’s “Gather Intelligence” section. From there, the “Medical Research” section allows a user to access RapidRetrieve to securely order, track, retrieve, and view digitized copies of medical records quickly and seamlessly.
Specifically, the RapidRetrieve system retrieves and digitizes patient medical records from any location in the world, delivering them electronically directly to the attorney or authorized requestor. It enables the attorney to quickly initiate a new request, track pending or past request status, and download completed records. RapidRetrieve can also be used to order additional services, such as customized Bates/page stamping, medical record sorting and indexing, medical reports and summaries, and more.
Since RapidRetrieve is offered within Total Litigator, attorneys building a case involving patient medical records can quickly move documents and information they find into other LexisNexis services they may use—such as CaseMap, Concordance and others—for easy use in other elements of their case planning such as discovery, assessment and analysis.
“We are very pleased to partner with LexisNexis to bring this resource to attorneys,” said Amy Rees Lewis, CEO of MediConnect Global, Inc. “The integration of RapidRetrieve into Total Litigator will significantly improve their case preparation and management capability.”

The complete system is operated under the legal requirements of HIPAA. All patient data and records are maintained in full compliance with HIPAA requirements and are only securely provided with the express authorization of the patient.
