MEDICONNECT RELEASES CUSTOM MEDICAL RECORD RETRIEVAL SOLUTION FOR PENDING VIOXX SETTLEMENT
Solution Available Immediately To Meet Pending Settlement Deadlines
SALT LAKE CITY, Nov. 28, 2007—MediConnect Global, Inc. today announced the availability of a custom-tailored package of its most critical medical record retrieval services to be used for the Merck Vioxx settlement proposal. The Vioxx Medical Record Solution or VMRS is designed to help all attorneys and legal professionals involved in the Merck Vioxx settlement quickly obtain medical records they need for their clients.
The five medical record retrieval services included within VMRS include:
- Medical Record Retrieval—Accurate, fast, digitized, and downloaded medical records through a secure Web site.
- Certificate/Affidavit—A document with signatures from the healthcare provider or a copy service certifying the complete set of patient records were released to MediConnect or indicating no records were available. (Additional fees apply for original and/or notarized signatures.)
- Searchable Text (OCR)—PDF formatted medical records are converted into searchable text through OCR allowing searches for any words such as names and dates.
- Customized Bates Stamping—Electronic fully customizable page numbering added to each page of the medical records.
- Provider Discovery—A review of selected records to find additional records related to the patient available from other providers, facility locations and pharmacies.
Pricing for VMRS bundled services is approximately $71.85 per record for up to 100 pages—final pricing depends on the medical record size. Each of the services are also available separately and volume discounts may also be available.
In addition to the core VMRS services, MediConnect is offering a suite of advanced add-on services designed to assist all parties involved in the Vioxx settlement. These Advanced Services include:
- Medical Records on DVD—$350.00 per DVD up to 1,000 records
- Indexing—$19.95 + 20 cents per page over 100
- Missing Record Review—$14.95
- Indexing and Missing Record Review—$29.95 + 20 cents per page over 100
- Rush Order Services--$10.00 + delivery costs
