"Do's" and
"Don'ts" for Getting Authorizations Accepted |
|
Authorization
forms rejected by the healthcare provider can cause delays in
retrieving medical records. Check the most common "do's" and
"don'ts" to get yours accepted the first
time.
Check Applicant's Signature and
Date. Authorizations are often only valid
for 60 - 90 days from the date of signature.
Check Disclosures. Indicate that HIV,
drugs or psychiatric conditions can be disclosed regardless of the
patient's condition.
Check Legibility. Make sure there is no hard-to-read handwriting,
smears, smudges, etc.
Identify MediConnect as Your Agent.
Provide our full name, address and phone
number.
Provide Proper Supporting
Documents. Always
include a death certificate and an executor of estate document if
the patient is deceased or a letter of testamentary or power of
attorney document if the patient is incapacitated.
DON'T Submit Incomplete Forms. Providers
will not release records to MediConnect if the form has blank
sections.

Analyzing Medical Records for
Litigation
Med Legal Consulting Source is an integrated
partner of MediConnect Global. Their services can be ordered
directly through RapidRetrieve. More About Med Legal
Consulting Source
Med Legal Consulting Source is a national leader in analyzing
medical records for litigation. Med Legal was founded in 2000 by CEO
and RN, Nancy Fraser, who saw a need in the legal profession and
insurance claim industry for an alternative method in approaching
medical records and bills that would reinforce their cases.
Med Legal knows that preparing or defending a
medically-related case requires specialized skills. Voluminous
documents and complex issues must be examined and interpreted from
both a medical and a legal perspective. Key issues must be
identified, evaluated and summarized to properly prepare and
strategize. The task requires a keen eye for detail and an ability
to grasp the big picture.
Med Legal's certified legally trained nurses
have those keen eyes and are specialized experts in this task. By
using a tripled tiered patented process of
reviews, clients are assured of high quality, accurate reports
every time.
Using Med Legal frees up paralegals, and attorneys
to do what they do best - focus on strategy and litigation. Med
Legal reports remove the redundancy within a law practice and claims
office, making clients far more efficient - adding
to their bottom line.
When Med Legal's review is
completed clients receive organized records, analysis of
the data and customized files tailored to their specific needs
that include clear, concise and easy to read summaries, charts,
tables, and chronologies.
After you have retrieved records from
MediConnect Global, be sure to have a set of those records
automatically sent to Med Legal Consulting Source. Med Legal
will call you to discuss the case and your needs and provide an
upfront budget so you know what to expect.
Call or email Med Legal in advance and
they will be happy to send you samples of your requested
report.
