Should we have federal insurance regulation?
What criteria should be utilized to fairly rate insurance
agencies?
How do health insurance companies manage the large volumes of
records for CMS deadlines in March, September and
January?

"Do's" and
"Don'ts" for Getting Authorizations Accepted |
|
Authorization
forms rejected by the healthcare provider can cause delays in
retrieving medical records. Check the most common "do's" and
"don'ts" to get yours accepted the first
time.
Check Applicant's Signature and
Date. Authorizations are often only valid
for 60 - 90 days from the date of signature.
Check Disclosures. Indicate that HIV,
drugs or psychiatric conditions can be disclosed regardless of the
patient's condition.
Check Legibility. Make sure there is no hard-to-read handwriting,
smears, smudges, etc.
Identify MediConnect as Your Agent.
Provide our full name, address and phone
number.
Provide Proper Supporting
Documents. Always
include a death certificate and an executor of estate document if
the patient is deceased or a letter of testamentary or power of
attorney document if the patient is incapacitated.
DON'T Submit Incomplete Forms. Providers
will not release records to MediConnect if the form has blank
sections.

Inspirational Quote of the Day
"Twenty years from
now you will be more disappointed by the things you
didn't do than by the ones you did do. So throw off the bowlines.
Sail away from the harbor. Catch the trade winds in your sails.
Explore. Dream. Discover."
